The Diagnostic Imaging
Department is a dynamic department that continually grows to
better meet the needs of the patient services provided.
The department is
proud to be a part of the NORrad PACs group. NORrad or
NORthern
radiology is a
group of hospitals that are connected to provide better
service to patients in the north. The department utilizes
the PACs technology (Picture Archive and Communications
system) which is a film-less system to develop x-rays or
ultrasounds, which can be sent to hospitals within the group
via high speed networks with no loss in detail. This allows
for physicians of a small site that do not have an on-site
radiologist to have access to a faster turn around time for
reports. This system also allows physicians to view prior
x-rays a patient may have had at one of the group’s sites to
compare with or eliminate an unnecessary repeat x-ray.
The Englehart and District
Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging department consists of several
services are Radiology, Ultrasound, ECG’s, Holter Monitors,
Bone Densitometry and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors
