The Emergency Department is
staffed with a Registered Nurse 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Physicians are on call when not physically
present in the building and are notified of patient arrival to the
Emergency Department by the nurse. The
Emergency Department does not function on a first come, first serve
basis. Patients are assessed and “triaged” by a Registered
Nurse. Patients will be seen according to the severity of their
illness.
Patient teaching is
provided through the use of handouts, as well as verbal
communication. Staffing excellence is a value at the Englehart and
District Hospital and maintaining skill levels increases the quality and enhances the level of care provided
