INFECTION CONTROL PROGRAM
The purpose of the Infection Control Program is to control and prevent the transmission of Infectious Diseases within the hospital environment and the community. This is done by monitoring infections and implementing control measures through education of employees, patients and visitors in the principles of Infection Control. The goal of this program is to maintain the safest possible environment for patients, visitors and employees.
This program functions in conjunction with and direction from the Infection Control Committee, which is a sub committee of the MAC. Outside health officials involved include medical practitioners, the Medical Officer of Health, and the Public Hospital Laboratory.
