TIMISKAMING DIABETES PROGRAM

The Timiskaming Diabetes Program is one of 39 Northern Diabetes Health Network programs which provides diabetes education and care for people living with diabetes.

The program is staffed by a Registered Dietician and Nurse who are also Certified Diabetes Educators, as well as a receptionist/secretary.  All staff are part time. 

In addition to individual private appointments for those living with diabetes, the program also organizes and hosts many workshops and events to promote healthy living and self-management of diabetes as well as workshops for local physicians and healthcare professionals to hear the latest information on diabetes care. 

These services are offered at no cost to the client and anyone can access these services (a doctors referral is not necessary).  The Timiskaming Diabetes Program provides weekly services to Englehart and area residents at the Englehart and District Hospital.
